Role Summary/Purpose
Best way to experience GE and gain challenging, hands-on IT experiences
Smaller versions of IMLP rotations scoped for 3-6 month time periods, and can be extended after fall semester begins depending on availability
Intern activities with interns from other areas of the business
Qualified IMLP interns are going to be given IMLP offers after the summer internship
Essential Responsibilities
The purpose of IMLP is to provide a pipeline of information management leadership talent for GE's businesses. IMLP accelerates development of entry-level talent and produces leaders capable of meeting the challenges facing the IT function at GE. IMLP is a 2-year program that allows members to hone their leadership, business and technical skills through four challenging six-month assignments and world-class training. The job assignments and training are designed to provide hands-on IT experience on GE's strategic initiatives.
IMLP Program Description:
The IMLP curriculum is designed to give members the opportunity to experience the entire IT function at GE through a balance of challenging rotational assignments and virtual and face-to-face course work.

Presentation skills
Business Writing
Databases
Networking/Infrastructure
Application Development
LEAN Six Sigma
Possible rotation areas may include:
Project management
Application development
Systems management
Business process re-engineering
Infrastructure management
Security/controllership

Qualifications/Requirements
- Degree in CIS, Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Systems, Information Resource Mgmt, Information Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, MIS, Systems Engineering
- Outstanding academic achievements
- A strong commitment to a career in information technology
- Significant leadership roles on campus or in the community
- Demonstrated strong analytical and technical skill
- Well-developed written and oral communication skills
- Fluency in English
- Sharp Business acumen
- Change advocacy
- Integrity
- Self-starter.
- Ability to deal effectively with unfamiliar and/or challenging situations

Desired Characteristics
Prior internship or real work experience in IT industry esp. in IT consulting or project management.
Financial knowledge will be a plus.
