Award winners from ZJU

The contest provided participants with a large open dataset and set up the following five tracks: English-Chinese Simultaneous Interpretation, Human Skeletal System Keypoints Detection, English-Chinese Machine Translation, Scene Classification, and Image Captioning.

Six graduate students from ZJU’s College of Information Science and Electronic Engineering and College of Optical Science and Engineering formed two teams. Under the guidance of ZJU staff, both teams stood out from fierce competition, winning second prizes in the first two tracks. They devised recognized models for English-Chinese simultaneous interpretation and human skeletal system keypoints detection, respectively.

Kai-Fu Lee, founder & CEO of Sinovation Ventures, attended the awarding ceremony, and WANG Xiaochuan, CEO of China's second-biggest search giant Sougou, delivered a speech. “We hope the contestants will make bigger achievements and promote industry-academia collaborations in the future”, said WANG.
