On November 27, 2019, Prof. Andy Tyrrell, Dean of the Department of Electronic Engineering of the University of York, UK, and Prof. Stephen L. Smith, the Deputy Dean were invited to visit our college to promote cooperation between the two parties in student exchange programs and scientific research.

On behalf of our college, Deputy Dean Prof. Zhiyuan Chen extended warm welcome to Prof. Andy Tyrrell and his delegation. During the meeting, after a brief introduction of both colleges, discussion was mainly focus on exchange programs for undergraduates and doctoral students, and both parties decided to further promote undergraduate degree programs and graduation designs such as 2 + 2, 3 + 1 + 1 programs. In the end, Prof.  Zhen Cap gave a report on high-performance biomolecule analysis chips based on nanocapillary and nanopore.

The University of York is one of the important members of The Russell Group of the United Kingdom, and it is ranked 148th in QS World University Rankings in 2020.
