From Dec. 7th to 9th, the 2020 IEEE MTT-S International Conference on Numerical Electromagnetic and Multiphysics Modeling and Optimization was successfully held in Dielai Zhejiang Hotel. The conference was hosted by Zhejiang University and co-organized by ShangHai JiaoTong University, Tsinghua University and ZJU-UIUC. Professor YIN Wenyan of ZJU, Professor LI Erping of ZJU-UIUC Joint College and Professor MAO Junfa of SJTU (Academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences) were the co-chairs of the conference. The conference has attracted hundreds of scholars from all over the world.

The meeting officially started after the speeches of Prof. YIN and Prof. LI, and was held both online and offline at the same time. It was divided into 7 theme reports and 37 sub sessions. In the keynote report, Prof. QI Junzhang of Carlton University (academician of Canadian Academy of engineering, IEEE fellow), Prof. Yu Bin of ZJU (IEEE fellow), Prof. Eric Michielssen of University of Michigan (academician of Canadian Academy of engineering and Royal Academy of Sciences of Canada), Prof. WU Ke of Montreal University (IEEE fellow), Prof. JIN Jianming of the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign (IEEE fellow), Prof.Joungho Kim (IEEE fellow), and Professor Koichi Ito of Chiba University ( IEEE life fellow) respectively gave excellent reports on the frontier achievements in the research field, exchanging views with the participants. The 37 venues of the conference reported on the topics of 3D Integration, advanced packaging modeling, deep neural network optimization and application.
In order to enhance the influence of women's voice in the field of scientific research and open up a broader perspective of women for Nemo conference, Nemo 2020 specially opened a women in Nemo for MAPE sub venue for female participants, and also organized a activity of West Lake cruise, providing an interactive platform for female researchers. Under the chairmanship of Professor CHE Wenquan of South China University of technology, the attendings discussed how to enhance change. They shared their own growth experiences, like scientific research and teaching, which showed the advantages and disadvantages of women in scientific research. They also proposed that women should speak bravely on more platforms, maintain the spirit of lifelong learning and climb up the peak more bravely.
On the evening of December 8th , the award ceremony was held, with Prof. LI, Prof. YIN and Prof. CHEN as the award presenters. The conference produced awards including best student paper award, women in Nemo for MAPE Award.
