Innovative Institute of Electromagnetic Information and Electronic Integration (EIEI)

Brief Intro:

The Innovative Institute of Electromagnetic Information and Electronic Integration (EIEI), established in 2015, primarily engages in research across various domains, including the perception and feature extraction of information in electromagnetic spaces, metamaterials and electromagnetic wave cloaking, computational electromagnetics for multiscale complex structures, software development for multiple physics scenarios, modeling, simulation, and optimization design of micro-nano electronic devices, plasmonic characterization methods on two-dimensional materials, integrated nano-optoelectronic devices and optical CPUs, quantum electromagnetics and electronics, information platform development, as well as electromagnetic compatibility and protection design for systems.

Currently, the institute has 3 IEEE Fellows, 1 foreign academy member, 2 experts from national major talent recruitment programs, 1 Qiu Shi Distinguished Professor from Zhejiang University,11 recipients of national young talent programs, and 2 recipients of provincial young talent programs. In recent years, the faculty of the institute have led significant research projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation, including major instrumentation, key projects, distinguished young scholar projects, and international cooperation initiatives. They have also hold major and key projects funded by Zhejiang Province, as well as foundational enhancement and equipment development projects under Ministry of National Defense.

The institute has published over a hundred high-impact papers in top-tier journals such as Nature, Science and its subsidiaries, PNAS, PRL, Advanced Materials, and the IEEE Transactions series. The related achievements were awarded the first prize of the Natural Science Award from the Ministry of Education, the first prize of the Natural Science Award of Zhejiang Province and the second prize of the National Defense Technology Invention Award. The institute has also established extensive industry-academia-research collaborations with prominent enterprises and research institutes such as Huawei, China Mobile, CETC, CSIC, AVIC, CASIC, NORINCO, and various local entities, significantly enhancing its influence in the field.
